Steve Sansweet, Head of Fan Relations for LucasFilm, announced this weekend at the SDCC: Star Wars Spectacular panel that Star Wars Celebration V will be officially held during the summer of 2010 to celebrate the 30 year anniversary of The Empire Strikes Back. Although an exact location and date has not been released...does it really matter?

Thank the makers!!! It appears A slip at Hasbro may have 'unofficially' confirmed the Star Wars Celebration V in 2010.

According to this article posted up on the Hasbro promo site asking fans to partake in a contest that involves re-creating their favorite Star Wars scenes using Hasbro action figures, Star Wars Celebration V has in fact been confirmed for a 2010 release!!

Frank D'Iorio, the master diorama builder behind the fantastic fan-built dioramas at Celebration II and Celebration III, is returning for yet another Celebration. And this time he's bringing the Ewoks with him!
Especially for Star Wars Celebration IV, slated for May 24-28 in the Los Angeles Convention Center, D'Iorio is planning to bring the forest moon of Endor to life in diorama form on the floor of the Fan Fair Hall. Star Wars fans from all over the world not only will gather in the Los Angeles Convention Center May 24 -- 28, 2007 to celebrate the saga at Celebration IV, they will have the opportunity to create part of the celebration themselves.
Lucasfilm and Gen Con LLC will set aside a special Star Wars fan exhibit area with free space for a limited number of clubs and groups that qualify. The Star Wars fan group area at Celebration IV will be an important part of a vibrant 'fan quarter' that will feature fan-sponsored events, displays, and activities all about the joy of Star Wars...details

On Monday, October 30, Star Wars fans officially can get their plans underway to attend Celebration IV, scheduled for Memorial Day weekend, May 24-28, 2007. Tickets for the huge fan festival at the Los Angeles Convention Center are scheduled to go on sale at approximately 12 noon PST here.
